World Mental Health Day 2021 Yoga Class

To celebrate World Mental Health Day 2021, Lisa taught a 30-minute yoga class. This is a beginner-friendly, all-levels yoga class.

World Mental Health Day is an initiative of the World Health Organization. This year’s theme was “Mental health care for all: let’s make it a reality.” Here at Blue Mala, we wholeheartedly endorse this vision.

In this class, Lisa spends a few moments discussing how to use yoga as a tool to help manage anxiety and depression. The physical practice is therapeutically focused and accessible for whatever level works for you. After class, Lisa answered questions about yoga and mental wellness.

You don’t need anything other than a yoga mat. (And if you don’t have a mat, you can do yoga on a rug or carpet.) Wear whatever clothes you would wear to exercise. It doesn’t need to be anything fancy. Just comfy.

Lisa says, “As with any class, listen to your body first, listen to me second. I'm not the boss of you. 😃 You never want to move to the point of pain.”
