Writing Prompts to Inspire Curiosity
Writing things down is an effective way to process emotions and understand where you might be getting stuck. I don’t care if you are a terrible writer, if your handwriting is illegible and your grammar is questionable. If you find yourself writing below your standards, lower your standards. No one else ever needs to read what you write. Set a timer for five, ten, twenty minutes — whatever feels reasonable, and free write with zero judgment.
Writing prompt:
What makes you feel like you are in your flow state? Like you are contributing something meaningful to the world? Maybe you’ve not found that thing yet, and that’s okay, too! What captures your interest? What makes you curious to know more? Write about what steps you could take to spend more time in a state of curiosity and openness.
What types of things did you enjoy as a kid? Was it dinosaurs, space, cupcakes? See if there is something from that childlike spark that can come into your adult life.
If you’re searching for your passion - think about what an ideal day would be like for you. Write about how you would spend your time if you had no constraints, no responsibilities.
This writing prompt originally appeared with the article entitled The Gold Buddha.
